Becoming a Medical Specialist
There is no sector that leaves its staff more fulfilled than the healthcare industry. This is where you shall always feel you are doing something important and worthwhile. But most of those jobs need you to have high levels of experience and qualifications. These are not easy to acquire for many people.
There are some jobs in there that do not need so much experience or qualifications. You can start low and grow from there. Here are a few examples.
There is the dental assistant position. You will aid the dentist as they work. You shall be needed to prepare and sterilize the equipment, take and develop x-rays, talk to the patients, among other duties. You shall have to get qualifications in OSHA BBP certification. There is the diagnostic medical sonographer job. Your job shall be to make images necessary for a physician to do their job. Specialization fields include neuro sonography, obstetric sonography, musculoskeletal sonography, breast sonography, as well as abdominal sonography. You will need an associate’s degree or post-secondary certificate. It is among the highest paying careers you can get without undergoing a four-year degree course.
A massage therapist is now in demand in more places, such as in fitness centers, spas, private clinics and hospitals. Your job shall be to relieve pain and discomfort in patients for relaxation and rehabilitation. You need to get a massage diploma if you are to do such work. After that, you will need a license in your region to operate there.
You can also become a medical billing and coding specialists. You will oversee the orderly storage of patient medical records and dates, for use in reimbursement. You will need to get the relevant diplomas if you are to do this job right.
There is also the medical lab tech position. You will be checking out bodily fluids for signs of illnesses in patients. You will not lack work in hospitals, private clinics, diagnostic laboratories, and doctor’s offices. You need to get an associate’s degree in areas like medical terminology, serology, physiology, anatomy, and microbiology. These shall have lots of practical training.These are practical dense training sessions.
You may opt to be an occupational therapy aide. You will be involved in setting up the equipment, and getting the patients ready. You do not need so much in terms of qualifications.
Radiation therapists are also in demand at outpatient centers, physician’s offices, and hospitals. You shall play major role in cancer treatment. There must be an associate’s degree in radiation therapy. You will earn well.
Respiration therapists are important in handling breathing challenges in patients. They deal with cases of pneumonia, cystic fibrosis, bronchitis and asthma. You shall need an associate’s degree to do this job well.
